What we do

What’s included.

NPPF policy TR6 expects a Travel Plan alongside a Transport Statement or Assessment for schemes that generate significant movement. A full Travel Plan is for a known occupier or a single-phase scheme. Where occupiers are not yet known, a Framework Travel Plan usually comes first.

  • Baseline travel and site accessibility
  • Targets the council and occupier can live with
  • Measures that suit the site and its users
  • A named Travel Plan coordinator role
  • Monitoring and review arrangements
  • Travel Plan statements for smaller schemes
  • Discharge of Travel Plan conditions
  • Monitoring surveys and annual reports
How we approach it

Straightforward, proportionate, agreed early.

Realistic, not aspirational

Targets based on the site and its users, so the occupier can actually meet them.

Measures that get used

Cycle parking where people want it, travel information that is current, and incentives with real take-up.

Light-touch monitoring

A monitoring plan that gives the council what it needs without burying the occupier in paperwork.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

What is the difference between a full and a Framework Travel Plan?

A full Travel Plan is written for a known occupier and sets specific measures and targets. A Framework Travel Plan sets the approach for a site where occupiers are not yet known, and each occupier then produces its own plan.

Do councils charge for Travel Plan monitoring?

Many do, usually secured through a Section 106 agreement. We check the local fee early so it is in your appraisal.

Can you discharge an existing Travel Plan condition?

Yes. Send us the decision notice and we will prepare what the condition asks for.
