Small by design. Senior on every job.
Ripple is a director-led transport planning consultancy, with experience from the Scottish Highlands to the south coast, and from mid Wales to East Anglia. You deal with the person doing the work, from first call to decision, whether the scheme is yours or your client's.
Senior advice shouldn't be the exception.
Ripple was set up after 13+ years in transport planning, advising on more than 150 schemes, from single plots to Local Plan allocations.
Too often, a senior person wins the job and someone junior does the work. Ripple works the other way round. The experienced person scopes the job, writes the evidence and sits across the table from the highways officer, and the fee reflects what the scheme actually needs.
The name is the goal. A good scheme spreads benefits beyond its red line: a safer crossing, a footway that joins up, a bus stop within reach. We get schemes to a decision, and look for the changes that leave the place better.
Three principles, every job.
01
Plain English first
Reports your client, the highways officer and the planning committee can all follow. Technical where it must be, never to impress.
02
Proportionate scope
We scope to what the council actually needs to decide. No surveys or modelling for the sake of it.
03
Leave the place better
We show what a scheme gives back, such as the footway, the crossing or the bus, as well as showing its impact is acceptable.

One senior consultant. Trusted specialists.
Ripple is one experienced consultant, not a large team. For traffic surveys, highway design drawings and Road Safety Audits, we use independent specialists we've worked with for years. You still have one point of contact.
